INTRODUCTION

Through the TSC strategic plan of 2015- 2019, TSC acknowledges that and I quote “.…A key milestone achieved in this area was the establishment of on-line teacher registration. The main challenge and lesson learnt in this area is the need for the Commission to monitor and regulate teaching standards nationally. This will entail the establishment of adequate mechanisms to enforce the registration of all trained teachers, especially those engaged by private learning institutions.” Chapters 2 subsection 2.4.1. This simply means that if teachers in Private schools can have a body that monitors them it will be easier and faster for TSC to enforce registration of all teachers in Kenya.

PSTA[K] was formed back in 2015 by a few teachers employed in Private schools but due to lack of finances, legal assistance, proper guidance and many other factors, the group was unable to push its agenda to open up the Association. Now the Association is fully registered and ready to push our agenda and ensure that teachers in private schools are recognized. We are also lobbying with various education stakeholders in the country such as – Ministry of Education, TSC, and KICD.

Our Vision:

Helping Teachers to work in the most effective, informed way to provide the best possible education for children now, and in the future.

Our Mission:
